Susan A. Wheeler

Age 94, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away September 26, 2021 at the Penn Yan Manor.

The family will receive friends at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Saturday (Oct. 9) from 11am-1pm; followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm; and burial at Yatesville Cemetery.  A reception will be announced.

Susan was born in Potter, NY; one of fifteen children born to Leonard and Minnie (Abel) Wheeler.  She was a real country girl who enjoyed the outdoors and even deer hunting until her later years.  She worked at Fairland Farms and as a vender at The Windmill.  She worked many years until she retired as a housekeeper at Keuka College. 

She was predeceased by parents, and 12 of her brothers and sisters, Willis, Lewis, Ora “Pete”, Charles, Ray, Andrew, Donald, Arden, Laura, Marjorie, and Amy Wheeler, and Erma Eaves. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene (Dawn) Wheeler of Penn Yan; Ricky (Debbie) Wheeler of Oklahoma; and John (June) Wheeler of Prattsburg; also two siblings, Leonard Wheler Jr. and Hazel Swinehart; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
