Stephen A. Eskildsen
Age 75, of Penn Yan, passed away November 3, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital after a long illness.
Steve was born in Penn Yan on November 30, 1946, the son of the late Andrew and Marian (Cross) Eskildsen. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy and studied at Alfred State College. He was a lifelong farmer, and in later years became a heavy equipment operator for Ontario County. Steve was a Town of Torrey Zoning Board member for 20 years and a lifetime member of the Dresden Fire Department and the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club.
He is survived by three children, Kerry (Chuck) Hoffman of Honeoye Falls, NY, Thomas (Sara) Eskildsen of Penn Yan, and Kate (Matt) Nelson of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Madeline, Alexa, Jacob, Stephan and Karla; brother, Fred (Judy) Eskildsen of West Bloomfield; sister, Lois Hall of Bluff Point; special lifelong friends, David and Toby Bond and Paula Edelmann; special caregiver, Diane Segura; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas Eskildsen, and brother-in-law Warren Hall.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Dresden United Methodist Church, 62 Cornelia St. in Dresden on Wednesday (Nov. 16) from 1-3:30pm and 6-8pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Dresden United Methodist Church on Thursday (Nov 17) at 12:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club. Burial will be private at the City Hill Road Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to The Dresden United Methodist Church, or a charity of one’s choice.
