Roger A Doty, Sr.

Age 76, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away December 17, 2024.

He was born in Bath, NY on August 8, 1948, the son of Edward and Onalee (Drumm) Doty. Roger graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1966 and was a Vietnam Veteran, enlisting in the US Air Force after high school.

He worked for Parmenter Tire, Auto and Truck Service in Geneva in Tire Sales, retiring in 2012.

Roger's family was his pride and joy; He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dee Doty; they raised three wonderful children; Roger Doty Jr of Syracuse, Rhonda (Tim) Carruthers of Dundee, and Richard (Lyn) Doty of North Carolina. Also, sister Sandra (Joe) Marino of Penn Yan; 8 grandchildren, Nicolas, Marissa, Jessica, Michael, Tyler, Peyton, lan (Jordyn), and Zachree (Kayla); 3 great-grandchildren Thomas, A'Yonna, and Kristiana; several nieces and nephews, and his buddy Gizmo. He was predeceased by brothers, Gary and Mark.

Roger enjoyed talking to his friends and neighbors on his daily walks around the neighborhood with Gizmo. He was also a big NASCAR and Richard Petty fan.

In honor of Roger's service and life, he will be laid to rest at Bath National Cemetery with military honors in the spring. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Legion Post #355, PO Box 362, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
