Rena Christine “Chris” Ferguson

Age 60, of Canandaigua, passed away November 9, 2023.

The family will receive friends at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan on Sunday (Nov. 19^th) from 1pm-3pm; followed by a memorial service with military honors starting at 3:00pm.

Chris was born in Oklahoma City, OK on November 12, 1962, the daughter of Roger Lee Ward and Dixie Lee (Baughman) Ward.  Their family moved to Penn Yan, where she graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1982.  Upon graduation, she enlisted in the US Army and honorably served four years and was stationed in South Korea.  She was a supporter of the Penn Yan American Legion and a proud veteran.

Chris worked for the Women’s Veteran’s Crisis Hotline at the Canandaigua VA Hospital.

She is survived by her loving daughter Kellie Ferguson of Canandaigua; sisters Cheryl Ferguson-Peloquin of New Hampshire, and Stacy (Don) Olevnik of Wayne; brother Brian Ward of Penn Yan; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Dextor Morgan and Astro.
