Mary E. Fulkrod

Age 80, of Penn Yan, passed away January 25, 2024 with her daughter and son by her side.

Mary was born July 19, 1943 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Bunn and attended the Haverling School in Bath.  She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Benny Fulkrod in 2020.  They operated the family farm together for many years.  They continued to sell produce after they sold the farm.

She is survived by her children Ruth Hamm, Benny Fulkrod Jr, and Tina (Doug) Dailey; grandchildren, Annmarie Ormsby, Amanda (Ryan) Martinez, Allison (Nicholas) Babiack, Joseph (Christina) Casterline, Benjamin Fulkrod, Nicolas Fulkrod, Caleb Fulkrod, Ahren Albee; sisters, Betty Oliver (Dave) of Thurston Mabel Mason of Savona and; brother Richard (Beverly) Bunn of Virginia; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Gerald Bunn and step-father, Zora King.  

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date at City Hill Cemetery.  Those wishing may consider a donation in her memory to Penn Yan FFA, ℅ Penn Yan Academy, 305 Court St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.

Thank you to the staff at The Homestead-Unit 1 for taking care of mom like she was family.  Also, thank you to the ER staff for their excellent care, support and compassion.  The Weldon Funeral Home of Penn Yan is assisting the family.
