Marjorie L. Stine
Age 98 of Penn Yan passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024.
Marjorie was born in Ionia, Michigan on March 29, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Amelia (Mills) Johnson. She was predeceased by her beloved companion of 20 years, Ivan A. McKissock, in 2008. She was also predeceased by her son, Maj. Gary W. Stine, USAF, and brothers and sisters, Leslie, Paul, Kenny, Mary, Barbara, and Joan.
She is survived by her children, Cathy (John) Elliott of Canandaigua, Mollie (Cleland) Ross of Penn Yan, and Mary Kay Stine (Penny Hayes) of Branchport; sister Catherine Higbee of Michigan; five grandchildren, Samuel Presley III (Tricia Ritterbusch), Erin Presley (Crystal Fox), Christopher (April) Presley, Robert (Farah) Ross, and Benjamin Stine; and four great-grandchildren, Lauchlan, Cobey, Alys, and Aaron, and many nieces and nephews.
Majorie worked at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She especially loved reading and being with family and friends. She enjoyed canning, sewing, and quilting making clothing for children. She was a great cook and baker and made incredible cinnamon twists. Her love for gardening included growing vegetables and caring for her flowers, especially her hydrangeas and clematis.
She led her life as being a good example to family and friends, and will be dearly missed.
