Lori A. DeMatties
Age 59, of Geneva, NY and formerly Penn Yan, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2021.
Lori was born in Penn Yan, the daughter of the late Alfred and Patricia (Sisson) Serefine. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1980 and worked at Pinky’s Restaurant in Geneva as a bartender for many years. She also loved her job as a bus monitor for the Geneva City School District and working with the children with special needs. She loved bowling and playing bingo and cards. She especially loved family reunions and holidays. She also loved chatting on the phone with her best friend and cousins, especially with Jill, Kelly, and Ginger. She also had a special place in her heart for her brother-in-law, Mike “Finchy” Finch.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel DeMatties; parents Alfred and Patricia Serefine; brother, Chris Serefine of Penn Yan and Melinda Natelli of Geneva.
She is survived by her loving son, Daniel A. DeMatties; sister Diane Serefine Segura of Penn Yan; three nephews, Godson Craig Finch, Jimmy Segura, and Shawn Mosher, all of Penn Yan; and niece, Jo Kennedy of Louisiana.
A graveside memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Penn Yan on November 6th at 11:00am; followed by a Celebration of Life service at the American Legion in Penn Yan.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to a favorite charity, or to St. Jude’s (online at/www.stjude.org) or the Wounded Warriors Project (woundedwarriorproject.org)
