Linden D. Ames

Age 80, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away October 2, 2024.

Linden was born in Penn Yan, the son of Lester and Ruth (Sutton) Ames. He attended Dundee Central School. He was a passionate fan of Dirt Racing, and had a great love for the outdoors, hunting, and Sunday afternoon car rides. He was a member of the Himrod Conservation Club for 58 years, a testament to his commitment to nature and community. 

Linden dedicated 32 years as a machine equipment operator for the Yates County Highway Department; and prior for 8 years with Town of Milo. 

To honor Linden, a Celebration of Life in his memory will be held Saturday November 16th from 1pm-4pm at the Penn Yan Moose Club (301 E. Elm St, Penn Yan). A private interment will be held at Grove Mount Cemetery in Himrod. 

Linden is survived by his wife, Patricia Ames; sons, Brian (Rita) Ames, Nathan Ames, Jamie Fisher, Patrick Ames, and Kevin Ames; daughters, Shari DelRossa, Erin Ames, and Karin Ames; brother Daryl (Brenda) Ames; sister Evelyn (Jerry) Wilson; 10 grandchildren, Brad, Brittany, Kelsea, Austin, Cassidy, Jayda, Liam, Emilia, Jackson, Grayson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Audrina and Cecilia. 

He was predeceased by his brother, Louis Ames. 

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Himrod Conservation Club, 770 Rice Road, Himrod, NY 14842.
