Leon Noble Stiles

PENN YAN: Passed peacefully in Rochester, NY on October 4, 2023 at the age of 103.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 75 years, Eleanor. He is survived by his children, Lester Stiles (Mary) of FL and Evelyn Erwin of Rochester; grandchildren, Pamela Lawrence (Scott) of Rochester, David Erwin of OR, Karen Lesinski (Tom), Tina Calhoun (Larry) of GA, and Bruce Stiles of VA.

Mr. Stiles, a lifelong resident of Penn Yan, owned and operated the Stiles Poultry Farm on Stiles Road for many years, at one time one of the largest in New York. He was the Stiles Family of America Historian for many years and amassed a large collection of genealogy for the Stiles Family Association. He was a member of the Penn Yan 4-H Club as well as a leader. Mr. Stiles was an avid genealogist and stamp collector and had contacts all over the world with his genealogical and philatelic interests.

The family will receive friends at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main Street, Penn Yan on Monday (Oct. 9) from 1pm-2pm; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.  He will be laid to rest at the Bellona Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
