Laurence M. Mickelsen

Larry Mickelsen, 71, of Keuka Park, NY, died unexpectedly at home on Monday October 28, 2024.

The family will receive friends and family at Weldon's Funeral Home,102 E. Main Street, Penn Yan on Monday, November 4 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A service of remembrance will follow at 1:00 pm with burial in Lakeview Cemetery.

Larry was born in Penn Yan, NY on May 8, 1953, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth Mickelsen (Lizzi). He was a Parts Manager for Friendly Dodge Crysler Jeep in Penn Yan for many years. Larry was a collector, restorer and driver of many classic cars, his favorite being his Baracuda. Larry was an avid gun collector, gun smith, and enjoyed hunting at one time. Larry loved working on crafts and small things, including models, trains, and stained glass. He owned and loved animals of all kinds.

He is survived by his wife Sheri; three children: Christopher (Christine) Mickelsen; Heather Mickelsen; and Alexis Manning; sister Teresa (William) Sampson; his father-in-law, Earle (Elaine) Gleason. He is also survived by his grandchildren Emily Mickelsen, Mason and Jaxson Ricks, and Sophia Manning; as well as Sister-in-laws Lori Sprague; Stephanie (Mike) Harper; and brother-in-law Aaron (Colleen) Gleason. Larry was predeceased by his parents, and his mother-in-law Bonnie Robinson.
