Kristine E. Short

Age 76, of Penn Yan and recently Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2023.  

Kristine was born in Penn Yan on August 25, 1946, the daughter of the late Lynn and Anne Bishop.  

After graduating from Penn Yan Academy in 1964, Kristine embraced a career in nursing, and enrolled at the Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing in Geneva, where she earned her degree.  Her passion for caregiving guided her path as she dedicated herself as a Registered Nurse at the Ontario County Health Facility in Canandaigua. Through her profession, Kristine exemplified empathy and compassion in caring for others.

Kristine is now reunited with her beloved son James Short, who preceded her in death.  She is survived by her daughter Wendy Parmelee, and granddaughter Kristina Parmelee, both of Penn Yan.

In honor of Kristine's extraordinary journey through life, a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  This gathering will provide an opportunity for all those touched by her light to come together and reflect on the profound impact she had upon their lives.  Until then, we invite you to share your memories or extend your condolences to the Short family through her online obituary at www.WeldonFuneralHome.com.
