John K. Goebel, Jr.

Age 86, of Branchport, passed away December 19, 2022 at Geneva Living Center, Geneva, NY surrounded by his loving family.   

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  His greatest achievement in life was his family.  He especially enjoyed spending time with family and making special memories with them on his beloved land.   

He was born in Rochester, the son of the late John Sr. and Martha Goebel.  He was predeceased by his wife Carolanne M. Goebel in 2017, two grandsons, Eric John and Zachary Allen Goebel; and two brothers, Joseph Lindsay and Richard Goebel 

He is survived by six children, John III (Linda) Goebel, and James (Rosa) Goebel, all of Ontario, Theresa Goebel of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey (Julie) Goebel of Webster, Timothy (Terri) Goebel of Walworth, and Christine (Joe) Burke of Manlius; brother Robert (Diane) Goebel of Newark; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great- grandchildren, as well as several close friends.

The family will receive friends at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 312 Liberty St., Penn Yan on Thursday (Dec. 22) from 10am-12pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00pm; and burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Prattsburgh.  A reception will be announced.
