Jane E. Snyder

Age 86 of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away September 26, 2023. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Thursday (October 5), from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.: followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m.  Burial will be held Friday (October 6), at 10 a.m. in Branchport Cemetery.

Jane was born in Penn Yan on June 1, 1937, the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Moss) Tears.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Gordon Snyder in 2021 and brother George Tears.  

She is survived by sons Terry (Carol) Tears of Florida, and Dale Pielow of Dundee; sister-in-law, Sarah Mortensen of Ohio; brother-in-law Bucky Bates of Branchport; grandchildren, Jessica Tears and Christine, Judy and TJ Weigel, Heather Andrews and Mike, Kim Aukar and Scott, Jesse Pielow and Kim, Matthew Pielow and Shelly, Ellana Pielow, Matthew Pielow and Shelly, Ellana Pielow, and Dakota Pielow; 12 great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends that became family, Gary, Gayline, Clarissa, and Connor Enos.

Jane was a member of the Branchport/Keuka Park Fire Department Auxiliary and the Dresden United Methodist Church.  Memorial donations to honor her memory may be made to the Branchport/Keuka Park Fire Department, 3686 Route 54A, Branchport, NY 14418.
