Jane Ann Bartholomew, age 83, passed away on June 12, 2019 in the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan, New York. Born in 1936 to Walter and Lillian Marshall, Jane Ann grew up in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and while attending the Smithfield School, she would meet her future husband Terry while they played in the Smithfield band together. She would later graduate from Stroudsburg High School in 1954, and subsequently received her teaching degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers’ College. She married Terry in 1960 and dedicated the next 59 years of her life to her husband, children, and community. Throughout her life Jane Ann was an active member of the Church, serving primarily as a singer and pianist. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending many family vacations camping throughout the Northeast. An avid angler, Jane Ann could frequently be seen fishing the waters of eastern Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes of New York. Additionally, influenced by her father’s creativity and craftsmanship, Jane loved all types of crafts including folk art painting, knitting and crocheting, needlepoint, scherenschnitte, and quilling. Jane Ann is survived by her husband, Terry, and three sons, Timothy, Edward, and Benjamin, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, 18 June 2019 at the Weldon Funeral Home in Penn Yan, New York with Reverend Jeff Childs presiding.
