Harold Egburtson

 Age 87, of Palmyra and formerly Penn Yan, passed away March 1, 2024 surrounded by his family.  

Harold was born in Branchport on January 13, 1937, the son of James and Lena (Morrison) Egburtson.  He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Jerusalem Highway Department.  He was predeceased by his wife Lynda (Johnson) Egburtson, daughter Patricia Egburtson, and two brothers, Erwin and Donald Egburtson.   

He is survived by three daughters, Dawn (Jon) VanHaneghan of Palmyra, Katherne Parish of Penn Yan, and Cheryl (Jesse) Jaramillo of Thorton, CO; nine grandchildren; Colin VanHaneghan, Briana VanHaneghan, Robert Parish Jr., Brandon Parish, Chantel Parish, Kenneth Lopeman, Jarrod Lopeman, Karianna Thompson, and Casey Lopeman, eight great-grandchildren; Emily Parish, Saralyn Parish, William Parish, Braelyn Parish, Trevan Drake, Olivia DeBrine, Joshua Staley, and Damein Staley; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.   

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Harold’s life at the Weldon Funeral Home, located at 102 E. Main St. in Penn Yan on Sunday (March 10) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  A funeral service will follow promptly at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.   He will be buried at Branchport Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
