Frank S. Berch Frank Samson Berch, 87, of Penn Yan passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home. Services will be scheduled at a later time convenient for the family. Memorial donations can be made to the Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527 (pypl.org) or WXXI Public Broadcasting in Rochester, NY (wxxi.org). Frank was born on July 5, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Charles Bercunas and Maria Zales, Lithuanian immigrants. Most of his childhood years were in Binghamton, and then teenage and young adulthood in Rochester, NY. He was the owner and operator of Barrington News Agency for many years. He raised his family in Barrington (Dundee) until 2009 when he and his wife downsized and moved to Penn Yan. He is survived by his three children: Frank J. (Susan) Berch of Lander, WY, Sally A. (Jeffrey) Daggett of Penn Yan, and Charles M. (Tammy Peer) Berch of Monterey; grandchildren: Christopher (Sandy) Parmeter of Miami, FL, Jeremiah (Michelle) Berch of Himrod, Jessica (Daniel) Gundersen of Pine Valley, CA, Heather (Brett) Foss of Hudson, WY, and Amy (Clay) Allen of Green River, WY; great grandchildren: Lily Berch, Leif Gundersen, Aiden Berch, Tor Gundersen, Elizabeth Parmeter, Harrison Parmeter, and Finn Gundersen; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Grace Berch (2015) the love of his life, his parents, three uncles and the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home family. The family would like to publically say THANK YOU to everyone at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home for taking such great care of Frank these last 4+ years. Arrangements are with Weldon Funeral Home.
