Frances J. Fox 

Passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.

Frances was born in Penn Yan on December 27, 1933 to the late Walace and Jane Griffin. She was raised on a farm and captivated her family with numerous stories about farm life. and when her father purchased a vineyard in the 1960’s, she spent many years picking and tying grapes. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1952 and worked at several local businesses including Loblaws and Soldiers & Sailors Hospital. She also spent many years taking care of the elderly in their homes, retiring at age 80. Her love for her family was without end and everything she did, she did for them. Playing cards with friends was one of her favorite hobbies. She especially loved traveling, visiting Australia and Las Vegas many times as well as the Caribbean and Aruba with family.

She is predeceased by her husband Charles E. Fox, brother Harry Griffin, parents and stepmother Gladys Griffin. She is survived by her sons, David (Dawn) Fox, Daniel (Bonnie) Fox, daughters, Carol Fox, and Barbara (Michael) Letson. Grandchildren Amy Walker, Lisa (Christopher} Schilling, Adam (Molly) Walker and Bethany Roland. She will also be missed by her four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Charlie, Elizabeth and Aiden, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan NY.  There will be a time of sharing of memories and stories at 4:00pm.  A burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family.
