“A life well lived.”
Edna M. Reiners of Penn Yan passed away peacefully on June 1, 2022, with family at her side.
Born in 1930 to Henry Krogh Charlsen and Eva Minerva Phillips, she was the oldest of 5 children and undoubtedly the one everyone looked up to. Edna married Glenn E. Reiners in May of 1950 and shared a wonderful life with him for 44 years.
After Glenn’s passing, she spent just shy of thirty years with her favorite dancing partner, Leo DelRossa. Edna was a pioneer for many women in the area, managing the office for Penn Yan Express, making life-long friendships. After Penn Yan Express closed, she and Glenn
owned and ran a Simplicity lawn equipment business. In her spare time, she could be found at the
racetrack, watching the sport she loved most, or reading books.
She is survived by her sisters Marilyn Oswald of Penn Yan, and Colleen Wight of North Chili, many caring nieces and nephews, great nieces
and great nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. She joins in heaven her husband, Glenn E. Reiners, her parents, Henry and Eva Charlsen, her sister, Betty Vermilye, her brother, Bruce H. Charlsen, her companion and dance partner of many years, Leo DelRossa, and many other family members and life-long friends.
A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family. A luncheon and celebration of her life, and it will be a celebration, will be held from 1-4 pm on June 11th at the Moose Lodge in Penn Yan. Please join in remembering what a loving, caring and generous person she was and come prepared to share your happy memories.
