Donna Marie Mayo

Age 61, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away peacefully in her home on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022.

Donna enjoyed getting to know people on a personal level. She enjoyed her work as a CNA until she had a severe, debilitating stroke in 2015. When Donna’s mother, Nadine went home to be with the Lord, Donna worked hard to live independently, and was very successful. She enjoyed meeting new people, especially their “fur babies“, as she sat in her wheelchair in her doorway.

Donna left a note of gratitude for her friends who helped her: Carlie Chilson, Mary Piersen, Milly Bergstresser, Anne Perry, Helen Gee, Barb Mullins, Trish Bagley, Wanda Howell, Diane James and her furry friends, Lily and Benny who she fiercely loved!

Donna had great faith and came to know the Lord as her personal Savior in 1965. Donna is walking on the streets of gold today because of that decision!

There will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11:00am at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee.  Everyone is welcomed!  Arrangements entrusted to Weldon Funeral Home, Penn Yan.
