Carl H. Jensen

Age 67, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Family and friends are invited to Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan on Friday (Oct. 21) from 3pm-6pm.  A funeral mass will be held Saturday (Oct. 22) at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 312 Liberty St., Penn Yan; followed by burial at Bellona Cemetery. 

Carl was a quiet and humble man who loved his family, home and farm.  He was born in Geneva, NY on September 8, 1955, the son of the late Harold and Beulah (Sinclair) Jensen.  He met his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Rose A. Burton at Penn Yan Academy.  They graduated together in 1973.  Carl was a sawyer for Pioneer Millworks in Farmington for almost 20 years.  He loved farming and tending to his gardens and fruit trees, and bird watching at his home.  He also worked on antique farm tractors and steam engines with his father in earlier years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Jensen; his two daughters whom he loved dearly, Stephanie (Mark) Nisbet of Barrington, IL, and Courtney Brown of Penn Yan; granddaughter, Clara Nisbet, who he also loved dearly; sisters, Anne Ammerman of Arizona; Nancy (Jack) Powers of Auburn; brother, Roger (Gail) Jensen of Geneva; numerous brothers-and-sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and several special friends. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Eric Brown and brother-in-law Charlie Ammerman.
