Beverly R. Chidsey 88, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1934, in Penn Yan, NY, to the late Arthur and Ellen Jepsen. Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her kindness, compassion and generosity. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT THE PENN YAN MOOSE CLUB (301 E. ELM STREET) ON SATURDAY (JUNE 22ND) STARTING AT 1:00PM. EVERYONE IS WELCOMED! A private graveside service will be held earlier for the immediate family.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Laurie Jensen; her grandchildren, Erin Kennedy Hodges and Matthew Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Owen Kennedy, Ava Kennedy, and Ellyn Hodges. She is also survived by her brother Dale “Pete” Jepsen and sisters-in-law Margaret (Chidsey) Stape, Joyce Chidsey and Sue Jepsen. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Chidsey, and her daughter, Deborah Chidsey.
Beverly dedicated her time to her family while also a career working at Penn Yan Express and later, Keuka College. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she found solace and community.
In her free time, Beverly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, creating cherished memories. She particularly loved hosting Sunday family dinners, celebrating birthdays and holidays, writing daily diary entries, and snowmobiling at their "Lily Pad" in the Adirondacks. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Penn Yan Manor or Keuka Comfort Care or St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Beverly's memory.
