Beth Tillman

March 16, 1961 — November 20, 2022

Beth Marie (Barden) Tillman

61, of Penn Yan, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022 with her family by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Beth was born on March 16, 1961 in Penn Yan, NY to the late Gerald and Helen Lou (Swanson) Barden. Her family resided in Penn Yan until they moved to Dansville, NY in 1968, where she graduated from Dansville High School in 1979. After moving back to Penn Yan in 1989, she met David and they married in 1992, continuing to build their family and their home in Guyanoga Valley.

She loved her most recent job at Eaves Family Dental immensely, and cherished her friendships with Dr. Sai, Missy and the entire team there. She valued getting to be a smiling face that greeted patients day in and day out.

Her lifetime interests included reading, crocheting, crafting, boat rides and car rides with David in their convertible, had a special knack for thrifting, and loved spending time with her family.

She is predeceased by her parents and her first husband, E. Michael Saunders.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, David Tillman; children Christina Saunders (Justin Prusak) of Fairport, Ashley Beach (Robert) of Penn Yan, and Garrett Tillman of Penn Yan; 5 siblings, Janice (Bruce) Hinman of Spencerport, George “Jody” Barden (Edith Davies) of Canandaigua, Pamela Carlson of The Villages, Fla., Rose Anne (Dan) Rawlings of Yorktown, Va., and Ross (Beth Laidlaw) Barden of Rochester; grandchildren Maddox, Avery, Henry, and Gwendolyn, as well as her beloved cat Mac, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends whom she considered family.

Her family would like to extend special gratitude to the doctors and nurses at FF Thompson for the compassionate care they not only provided to Beth, but to her family, in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to Keuka Comfort Care Home (P.O. Box 107, Penn Yan, NY 14527) or The Living Well (121 E. Elm Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527).

Calling hours will be held at the Benton United Methodist Church on Friday (December 2) from 4pm to 6pm and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (December 3) at 2:00pm, also at Benton United Methodist Church, 2395 Havens Corners Rd. Penn Yan.
