Barbara J. Hurlburt

Age 80, of Penn Yan, passed away November 24, 2024 at Keuka Comfort Care in Penn Yan. 

Barbara was born on July 1, 1944, the daughter of Amos and Katherine (Button) Ribble. She dedicated her career to nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, where she served her community until her retirement.

Barb was predeceased by her husband, John Hurlburt, in 1984. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Linda Connett and brother, Robert Button. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Victor Hand of Penn Yan; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Sally Ribble of Branchport; four grandchildren, April Hand, Dustin Hand, John Gelser, and Kimberly Gelser; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and best friend, Marion Phelps. 

The family will receive friends at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan, on Thursday (Dec. 5th) from 11am-1pm; followed by a funeral service at 1pm. She will be interred with her husband at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
