Barbara Frederiksen

Barbara Frederiksen, age 96, of Penn Yan, passed away February 3, 2023.

Barbara was born in Penn Yan on June 18, 1926, the youngest daughter of the late Milford “Pete” and Flossie Danes.  

She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1990; and sisters Lillian Gelder and Louise Finger.  She is survived by a son, Hal Frederiksen of Penn Yan and daughter, Debbie Frederiksen, of Arizona (formerly Penn Yan).

Barbara was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy (Class of 1944).  She worked several years for Baldwin Bank in Penn Yan and a short while at the Olin fertilizer plant in Bellona Station.  She was a member and organist for the Dresden United Methodist Church for over 25 years.  She was also her husband’s bookkeeper for the farm from 1950-2015.

A funeral service will be held Friday (Feb. 10th) at 11:00am at the Dresden United Methodist Church, 60 Cornelia St., Dresden; burial at Bellona Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at the church.
