Barbara Anne Crumb

Age 79, of Hornell and formerly Branchport, NY, passed away May 29, 2023.

Barbara was born in Hornell on November 16, 1943, the daughter of Orlo and Virginia Tripp.  She graduated as Valedictorian from Penn Yan Academy and went on to receive her Masters Degree from Alfred University. 

She first worked as a music teacher at Penn Yan Academy, then for the Yates County Department of Social Services.  She continued her career, working for the NYS Department of Social Services and Medicaid Unit in Albany, NY, focusing on major Medicaid Law reform and policy. 

She was predeceased by her husband John A. Crumb in 1999 and son David Crumb in 2021.    She is survived by her two sons, James W. Crumb of Penn Yan, and Peter (Carrie) Crumb of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Katie Crumb, Kristopher Fitch, Keith Crumb, and Megan Crumb; partner Carol M. Clark; and three nephews and two nieces. 

A private graveside service will be held at Branchport Cemetery.
